Towable Center Pivot Irrigation System
The Towable Center Pivots is a variation of the center pivot system. It consists of a mobile central tower, spans including truss and tower, an overhang, and optional end gun system. The central tower can move between different fields, and it has three structures for choice, that is sliding rail, three-wheel, or four-wheel. The span is equipped with a special gearbox, which can be disengaged during being pulled to another field. The tires should be turned 90° to parallel the system and the gearboxes should be disengaged so that the system can be moved by a tractor. Combining spans of different length and an overhang of variable length, the towable pivot can be customized, covering 9.2 to 50 hectares to meet different irrigation needs. There are some sprinkler options, which can be chosen according to local climate and crop requirements, and the irrigation rate ranges from 4 mm to 50 mm.
